In
August of 1862 the Weekly Dispatch has an article about the Aylmer cricket team
beating the St. Thomas Cricket team. On the 28th of Aug 1862, page 2 reads:
On the 15th ult., Aylmer cricket team beats St. Thomas twice. In the evening
the two clubs dined together a COLE's Hotel.
If you google "Aylmer Cricket" you can pull up an 1886
archive of a cricket game between Aylmer (names like Paupst, Montieth. C.
Sinclair etc) and the Peninsular Cricket Club in Detroit.
